Flights to and from Santa Marta, hotel stays in Santa Marta, personal drinks, adequate clothing, insurance, etc.

What to Bring

Adequate insect-proof clothing, insect repellent, a headlamp, hammock with mosquito net, and ropes.

Important Information

  • Accommodation: Simple, communal sleeping in Kogi huts. Expect basic conditions with no Western amenities.
  • Facilities: There are no toilets—nature serves as the bathroom. No showers, but the village has access to a river.

This event takes place in a remote region of Colombia where armed groups may operate. Police protection may not be available, and there is a risk of assault, robbery, and kidnapping. Dangerous wildlife such as poisonous snakes, spiders, and jaguars are present in the area.
